Yes; the family visit exists for exactly that. The child's appointment is planned in the children's section with the paediatric dentist, yours in the room next door in the same time window. Siblings are booked on the same day too. Tick "family visit" on the appointment form or say so on the phone.

No. The ultrasonic tip loosens only the hard deposit stuck to the tooth by vibration; it does not harm enamel. The gaps and sensitivity that appear afterwards are places the tartar was covering, and they settle within days. Leaving tartar in place is what erodes gum and bone irreversibly.

There is no upper age limit; what matters is general health and the state of the bone. If bone is lacking, it can be prepared with a graft or sinus lift; that is a separate stage. Diabetes, blood thinners and smoking change the plan, they do not rule it out. A definite answer is given only after a CT scan and examination.

Whitening is not permanent; depending on tea, coffee and smoking habits the shade partly returns in one to three years and a short top-up is done. Whitening under a dentist's supervision does not damage enamel; there can be temporary sensitivity during treatment. Fillings and crowns do not whiten; this is discussed at the planning stage.
